Join us for a Teen Writing Workshop/Facebook Watch Party!

According to the former U.S. Poet Laureate, Rita Dove, “Poetry is language at its most distilled and most powerful.” But how, exactly, do you craft it?

In this online workshop for teens, we’ll discuss how to turn your ideas into poetry and, then, how revision can make your poems sing. We’ll also talk about poetic techniques and read poems that demonstrate those techniques.

Alyce and Miss Sue will be hosting this event as a Facebook Watch Party while answering questions and comments.

Send poems to Alyce at [email protected] before or after the event for critique.

Alyce Wilson is the editor of the online literary magazine Wild Violet and writes poetry, non-fiction and humor. Her books include Picturebook of the Martyrs, The Art of Life, and Reading’s Physician Poet: Poems by James Meredith Mathews.
