The private-funding thermometer rose by $31,757 in July, bringing the total for the year to $87,052, or 56.5 percent of the goal.
A $24K donation from the Friends of EPL–made up of book sale proceeds and membership dues–led the way. Our loyal and hardworking Friends are indispensable to the success of the library, and this is just the latest reminder. Thank you Friends!
A $5K donation from the Robert P. Kelly Family Foundation, as well as several individual gifts, provided another big boost. Thank you to all!
Sales in the Friends’ Book Nook added almost $1000 last month, with ‘library services’ revenue of nearly $600 for printing/copying, lost/damaged books, and room rentals rounding out the rest.
With five months to go, the gap stands at $67,128. Check back next month for August results.
To meet its operating budget, the library must raise approximately a third of the funds it needs each year, while state and local funding cover the rest. We’re fortunate to be part of a community that values the services, materials and programs the library provides.
Please continue to support the library through your generous donations (one-time or monthly), by shopping at the Friends’ Book Nook, volunteering, purchasing art from our exhibits, or dedicating a book to honor a loved one. Thank you.
