Margie Kavchok is a lifelong learner of arts and science. She is a retired nursing professor and independent business owner. She has pursued developing her art skills throughout her life and practiced whenever time allowed, while devoting most of her time to family, career, and volunteer activities.
Margie enjoys running/walking with several running groups in the Lehigh Valley and encouraging physical fitness. She has completed several marathons, half-marathons and 5K races. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking and reading.
Margie’s preferred medium is pen (nibs) and ink with the addition of watercolor. However, she does utilize acrylic and more recently, is exploring the medium of oil. She has a passion for drawing trees, and loves the light of landscape and flower paintings. She is presently studying figure and portrait painting.
Margie’s recommendation to any budding artist is to “do it.” Join art groups, attend workshops, visit museums, read art, Practice, Practice and Practice and above all, have fun learning a new skill and making new friends in our artistic valley.
Margie’s goal with her art expression is to provide a moment of peaceful respite and bring a smile to your heart.
