We can all use a little laugh! That’s the theme for the next series of Evening Book Club picks (February through May).

Join us Feb. 20 at 6:45 p.m. in the Margaret Knoll Gardner Lecture Room  for a lively discussion of Me Talk Pretty One Day, by David Sedaris.

Nonfiction. David Sedaris has been described as a national treasure. Also as a petulant egomaniac. Either way, he’s a funny writer who, according to The New York Times, copes with the foibles of contemporary life by “being funny, touching, and even tender.”

Me Talk Pretty One Day won the prestigious Thurber Prize for American Humor, and covers, among other topics, Sedaris’s hilarious efforts to learn French, his loathing of computers, and why he dislikes New York City restaurants.

Copies can be borrowed on interlibrary loan or purchased from one of Emmaus’ independent bookstores. Also available on Libby as an ebook and on Hoopla as an ebook and audiobook.
