Want to help shape the future of the library and make a difference in the community? Apply to serve on the EPL Board of Trustees, which has three openings starting Jan. 1, 2020 — two from Emmaus Borough and one from Macungie Borough.

The board is made up of nine volunteer members, plus the library director (who does not vote). Six members represent Emmaus Borough, two represent Upper Milford Township, and one represents Macungie Borough. Members are appointed by their local town council and serve terms of three years.

The board’s responsibilities include administration, policy, planning, fiscal, advocacy, and networking. They meet once a month at noon on the third Tuesday at the library, and meetings are open to the public.

If you’re interested and are 18 or older, you can fill out an application for the Emmaus Borough positions, or submit a letter of interest for the Macungie Borough position. For more information, email Maryellen Kanarr, library director, or call 610-965-9284 x204.
